Job description

Salary range applies to Port Police Officer I & II. Annual salary is at the start of the pay range. The current salary range is subject to change. Please confirm the starting salary with the hiring department before accepting a job offer.

DUTIES

A Port Police Officer is a sworn peace officer, authorized to carry a firearm who enforces federal and state regulations, City of Los Angeles ordinances, and security, traffic, and safety rules and regulations; engages in law enforcement activities, including uniformed foot, vehicle, boat, motorcycle, bicycle patrol and plainclothes assignments, arrest, and report writing at the Port of Los Angeles; provides information to the public regarding locations and operations of the Department; engages in hazardous materials enforcement; and does related work.
