NTP Maintenance Worker I ($21.83 -$29.55 hourly)
Performs a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled duties related to maintenance of Metro's facilities. Works under the direction of a supervisor.
NTP Maintenance Worker ($25.01 -$34.92 hourly)
Performs a variety of industrial maintenance duties related to maintenance of Metro's facilities. Works under the direction of a supervisor.
NTP Senior Maintenance Worker ($27.02 -$37.70 hourly)
Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties related to maintenance of Metro's facilities. Works under the direction of a supervisor.

NTP Maintenance Worker I
Qualifications
NTP Maintenance Worker I
Performs a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled duties related to maintenance of Metro's facilities. Works under the direction of a supervisor.
Examples of Duties
  1. Performs manual labor such as high-pressure hosing, sweeping, mopping, shoveling, heavy lifting (and team lifting) during equipment set up/removal, and materials handling.
  2. Perform semi-skilled, unlicensed trades work on a regular basis in multiple trades areas including carpentry, locksmith, glazing, masonry, minor mechanical maintenance, minor plumbing, air filter changes, painting preparation and painting.
  3. Performs grounds work, including watering, mowing, repair of landscape damage; mixes and applies herbicides, adjusts, repairs and installs sprinkler system piping and valves up to 4-inch supply systems. Performs snow removal activities.
  4. Performs office maintenance repair work such as replacing lamps, door maintenance/repair, toilet and sink removal/repair, ice machine maintenance/repair, minor plumbing and drain maintenance. Moves offices, including the removal and installation of modular office furniture and computers.
  5. Performs safety activities such as traffic control, hot work, respirator use, fall prevention and frequently performs work in confined spaces. Performs hand signals and+ rigging for crane and hoisting operations and equipment positioning. Erects scaffolding.
  6. Maintains industrial facilities, wastewater treatment structures, conduits and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and powered equipment. Performs industrial cleaning on wastewater treatment structures, interceptor facilities and equipment such as process buildings, aeration basins, clarifiers, and in various containment tanks/vaults/digesters using chemicals and heavy-duty cleaning equipment, large psi pressure washers, and fire pumps. Operates gates and valves associated with performing their maintenance duties.
  7. Services and cleans automotive vehicles, weed/lawn mowers, pressure washers, sprayers, and other equipment.
  8. Performs routine pickup and delivery of materials. Performs computerized parts research and ordering through the CMMS system.
  9. Operates computers to receive work assignments/information and report work progress.
  10. Assists in the high-pressure jet/vac cleaning and CCTV inspection of plant pipelines.
  11. Services various types of equipment that includes checking and maintaining proper fluid levels and lubrication of moving parts and wearing surfaces.

Examples of such equipment are riding mowers, trencher, pumps, jackhammer, sandblaster, snow blower, steam cleaners, air compressors, pick-up trucks, aerial bucket trucks, and light duty tractor with attachments.
  2. Operates and trains maintenance staff to use hand and power tools or equipment in performing work such as digging, heavy lifting, carrying, backfilling, mixing concrete, ground maintenance, snow removal and material handling.
  3. Performs and trains maintenance staff to provide support to various safety activities such as vehicle traffic control and confined space entry.
  4. Performs and trains maintenance staff in the industrial cleaning of Metro's equipment and facilities. Cleans treatment structures such as basins, weirs, and tanks using harsh cleaners and heavy-duty hoses. Installs and operates various sizes and types of pumping equipment. Cleans automotive vehicles, lawn mowers and other equipment.
  5. Performs and trains maintenance staff in performing grounds work such as watering, adjusting and repairing sprinklers, weeding, mowing and spraying grounds. Operates irrigation valves and performs irrigation pump and fountain installation associated with ground care.
  6. Performs and trains maintenance staff to perform minor repair work such as replacing light bulbs and working on doors, locks, chairs, etc. Removes and installs modular office furniture. Performs conference rooms set ups including audio/visual systems and computer hookups.
  7. Performs and trains maintenance staff to perform in-depth cleaning/repair of wastewater treatment equipment, which includes the following: Removing, acid cleaning, and replacing, screens, filters, and air diffusers; assembling and disassembling piping and fixtures such as small diameter steel or PVC pipe, bolted air header parts, access covers, hardware, etc.
  8. Perform and trains maintenance staff to perform rough carpentry, masonry, and rough concrete work. Assembles pre-manufactured interlocking block wall systems.
  9. Erects scaffolding and rigging and trains maintenance staff as needed. Prepares surfaces for painting including sandblasting, grinding, and wire brushing.
