At Saint Augustine Home in Indianapolis, the Little Sisters of the Poor mission is simple yet profound: to care for the elderly poor with love, respect, and dignity. Inspired by their foundress, Saint Jeanne Jugan, they strive to “make the elderly happy” through compassionate service and a family‑like environment. Lay staff are invited to share in this faith-based ministry.
We are seeking a Business Office Coordinator who can combine accuracy, honesty and a strong business knowledge to assure administrative and financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who loves details, communicates clearly, and appreciates meaningful work that promotes the mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

About the Role
The Business Office Coordinator supports the daily business functions of the Home, including accounts payable, audits, administrative coordination, vendor management, purchasing, local and state business compliance and regulatory reporting. This position works closely with the Little Sisters of the Poor and other lay personnel team members and plays a key role in maintaining smooth, compliant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with counting receipts and preparing bank deposits
  • Assist with credit card purchases and monthly statement reconciliations
  • Maintain petty cash and serve as back‑up for Residents’ petty cash
  • Assist with procurement of goods and services
  • Manage vendor receiving documentation and enter data into the financial system
  • Support Mother Superior during vendor payment approval processes
  • Assist with accounts receivable tasks as needed
  • Maintain inventory of all office supplies
  • Coordinate and complete regulatory reports, including surveys and cost reports
  • Serve as liaison for copier maintenance and service
  • Manage bank account administration, including updating authorized signers
  • Assist Mother Superior with correspondence
  • Maintain administrative and financial files, including archives
  • Make occasional post office runs

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in an office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a love of working with numbers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and proactive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Handles financial records with discretion, honesty, and respect for confidentiality, in alignment with organizational values.
