JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:
The Pool Manager is responsible for supervision activities, monitoring staff, and managing water chemistry at the Greenbelt Aquatic amp; Fitness Center to ensure a safe and high-quality swimming environment. The Pool Manager must also be a certified Lifeguard, bringing strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with energy and motivation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential function Take precautions and preventive actions to Ensure lifeguards are on duty whenever the pool is in use.
  • Provide adequate facility supervision.
  • Enforce established swimming pool rules and regulations appropriately
  • Maintain pool and spa water quality in accordance with health code regulations.
  • Conduct facility and mechanical equipment checks before opening and closing
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary facility.
  • Enforce uniform requirements and standards of personal appearance.
  • Instruct personnel to provide courteous, helpful, and informative service to patrons.
  • Supervise cashier opening and closing procedures.
  • Keep a daily log of questions, problems, and situations for reference by other managers and full-time staff.
  • Oversee conduct and discipline of patrons and personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum age 18 (preferred 21 or older).
  • Prince George’s County Pool Operator’s License.
  • Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Automated External Defibrillation (AED).
  • One year’s knowledge and experience of swimming pool management and supervisor skills and three years’ lifeguarding experience.
