A strategic and service-driven Director of Pool Operations who will lead the vision, execution, and daily management of all pool-related experiences across our resort property. You'll be the driving force behind creating a safe, luxurious, and memorable environment for guests enjoying our pool, cabanas, and outdoor amenities.
In this role, you'll oversee pool operations, staffing, guest service standards, and collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering to ensure seamless experiences. From managing lifeguard teams to enhancing poolside service offerings, you'll elevate the guest journey and uphold our brand's commitment to excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee daily pool operations, including water quality, cleanliness, safety protocols, and guest service standards

  • Manage lifeguard and pool attendant teams, ensuring proper training, scheduling, and performance

  • Collaborate with F&B to deliver exceptional poolside dining and beverage service

  • Monitor pool occupancy, cabana reservations, and guest flow to optimize comfort and safety

  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including lifeguard certifications and water testing

  • Develop and implement seasonal pool programming and special events

  • Maintain inventory of pool supplies, towels, amenities, and ensure timely replenishment

  • Partner with Engineering to address maintenance needs and ensure pool equipment is functioning optimally

  • Respond to guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold brand standards and guest expectations

  • Recruit, train, and mentor pool operations team members

  • Foster a culture of safety, hospitality, and accountability

  • Lead daily briefings and ensure team alignment on service goals and operational updates

  • Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to align with business needs and budget

  • Partner with Marketing to promote pool events, cabana packages, and seasonal offerings

  • Analyze guest feedback and operational data to inform improvements and innovations

  • Collaborate with Rooms Division and Housekeeping to ensure seamless guest transitions between pool and accommodations

  • Support sustainability initiatives related to pool operations and water conservation

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings and make presentations as needed

  • Travel to other properties or corporate meetings as required

  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs

  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Regularly lift 40 pounds, reach, bend, crouch, kneel, push, pull, and walk

  • Stand for several hours at a time

Your Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Recreation, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in pool or recreation operations in a luxury hotel or resort setting

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Lifeguard Certification required

  • Proven leadership experience managing large teams and guest-facing operations

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to aquatic environments

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and property management systems

  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors and travel approximately 10% of the time
