Job description

Our West Boise YMCA is currently seeking aMaintenance Technician II to join the team! This position is responsible for performing experienced / journey level handyman and general maintenance service and repairs, as assigned.

Serving over 20,000 active youth, adult, and family members, the West Branch of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA helps members lead a healthier, happier life. Facility amenities and features include six fitness studios, three racquetball courts, full-court basketball gym, youth activity center, climbing wall, 50-meter swimming pool, and training pool.

Work Location: 5959 N. Discovery Way, Boise, ID 83713

Schedule:

This is aFull-Time position at 40 hours weekly. Schedule is flexible 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday. Pay: $18.55-$23.19/hr.

Responsibilities:

  • Incorporates and adheres to preventative maintenance program to ensure the facilities and all of the equipment iskept in good running condition at all times.
  • Performs basic maintenance including but not limited to painting, electrical, woodworking, building repair andcleaning.
  • Completes work orders as assigned and within the time allotted.
  • Assembles, moves, and maintains equipment as instructed.
  • Removes and notifies necessary staff immediately of any damaged or unsafe equipment that needs to bereplaced.
  • Prioritizes safety, using safety protection and adhering to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Communicates regularly with staff regarding the progress of projects assigned.
  • Provides Maintenance coverage for Meridian and Caldwell YMCA locations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Two years of related schooling or equivalent experience in commercial work environment.
  • Skill in using hand and power tools preferred.
  • Skill in performing preventative maintenance preferred.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulatewhen dealing with others.
