Job Summary

The Operator ensures safety while overseeing and, maintaining, our extrusion lines. They check quality standards, breakdown equipment, adjust machines, and maintain a clean/organized work environment, in order to maintain the extruders are at optimal performance. This role collaborates with supervisors and teammates to maintain production of quality material. The Operator may assist with training new/potential operators, product inspectors, and other duties as requested by management.  They consistently demonstrate, promote and display behaviors aligned to the core values

Job Responsibilities

  • Follows all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Keepings equipment and work areas clean and organized.
  • Set up, clean, and maintain tools (dies, calibrators, tanks, and templates, etc.)
  • Troubleshoots extrusion related issues.
  • Maintains materials for each extrusion line.
  • Ensures scrap and efficiency meets company standards.
  • Checks and maintains quality.
  • Assists Product Inspectors with job duties when able.
  • Completes checklists and other paperwork as required.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Performs other various tasks as requested by leadership.
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers and keep Supervisor aware of any safety concerns. 
  • Abide and adhere to all company policies and procedures. 
  • Participate in trainings and comply with safety regulations 

Job Requirements

  • 1 year of experience with demonstrated mechanical knowledge
  • On-site QA certification
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/distribution organization.
  • Professional and Personable, ability to work individually as well as with a team
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves to learn new things 
  • Lift, push or pull up to 50 Lbs.
  • Repetitive motion of the limbs
  • Be able to Bend, twist, squat, and reach.
  • Able to be comfortable in an excessively noise environment.
  • May be expose to inclement weather excessive heat or excessive cold. 
  • This job operates solely in a factory setting. This role requires standing for long periods of time, walking the plant floor is necessary which is within a non-climate-controlled environment. This will require always wearing Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses or ear protectors.
