Job description

We are seeking a dynamic Account Manager – Engineered Resins to support revenue growth by managing customer accounts (large resin producers) and driving sales within the organization. This role requires a technically strong professional with an engineering background, preferably in Plastics or Materials Engineering, who can leverage deep knowledge of plastics materials, compounding, and processing technologies to deliver value-driven solutions to customers.

This role builds strong customer relationships through consistent engagement, proactive communication, and effective collaboration with internal teams. The Account Manager plays a key role in customer retention, satisfaction, and identifying new opportunities to meet evolving customer needs. The Account Manager will be responsible for meeting their volume growth targets, appropriate pricing actions, on time payment and other key commercial metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers via in person visits, phone, email, and virtual meetings to maintain active relationships.
  • Develop "high, wide and deep" relationships with customers
  • Meet commercial KPIs not limited to volume growth, pricing actions, on time payments.
  • Build trust and rapport to drive long-term retention and satisfaction.
  • Recommend solutions and product options based on customer needs and feedback.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to follow up on leads and campaigns.
  • Support account activities, manage CRM data, and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
  • Identify sales opportunities through day-to-day interactions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance customer experience.
  • Provide technical guidance and material recommendations based on customer application requirements.
  • Support customers in material selection, processing optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Translate technical customer needs into internal development or formulation direction.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, technical service, and operations teams within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Plastics Engineering or a related Engineering discipline required.
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, Business Development, Inside Sales or Technical Sales within a plastics, polymer, compounding or manufacturing environment preferably within large resin producers.
  • Experience with CRM tools and managing a high volume of accounts is preferred.
