The Quinnipiac University Poll is seeking part-time Telephone Interviewers to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to engage with public opinion across the nation and stay on top of breaking news while working in our spacious call center in Hamden, CT.


As an interviewer, you'll be part of a diverse and collaborative team conducting public opinion research on state and national elections, public policy, and other important issues in the news. Using a scripted questionnaire, you will collect valuable insights that help shape national conversations.

We offer paid training, flexible evening and weekend scheduling, and paid sick time.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct phone-based public opinion surveys using a scripted questionnaire
  • Read questions clearly and neutrally to ensure unbiased responses
  • Follow established procedures for random respondent selection
  • Accurately record responses while maintaining data integrity

Expectations:

  • Meet or exceed QU Poll performance and quality standards
  • Remain focused and attentive during extended computer-based work
  • Ensure confidentiality and the integrity of the data being collected
  • Always maintain professionalism, whether working remotely or onsite in a shared work environment
  • Work onsite in Hamden, CT during the Introductory and Training Period

Most importantly, the Interviewer seeks to ensure excellence in gathering public opinion by upholding the standards of the nationally recognized Quinnipiac University Poll.

Introductory and Training Period:

Work Model & Training Period

To support success in the role, all new Interviewers participate in a six (6) month introductory and training period. During this time, performance, attendance, and adherence to Quinnipiac University Poll standards will be evaluated.

Work Schedule During Training Period

100% onsite attendance is required for the first six (6) months to ensure comprehensive training, coaching, and team collaboration.

Hybrid Work Opportunity Upon successful completion of the introductory period, Interviewers may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, based on performance and operational needs.

  • Two (2) onsite shifts per week
  • Two (2) remote shifts per week
  • Ongoing hybrid eligibility is contingent upon maintaining performance and attendance standards

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to adapt to different personalities and handle call rejection professionally
  • Comfort working in a structured call center environment
  • Prior call center or customer service experience
