Job Description Summary
The Department of Social Sciences invites applicants for a part-time Political Science adjunct teaching position. These are semester-to-semester positions primarily teaching introductory courses, both in-person and online.
The Social Sciences department prepares students for careers in multiple areas that focus on human interaction. Majors, Minors, and GEP courses in the Social Sciences enable students to better understand their place in the world by connecting personal experience to past and present features of society. The Social Sciences offers major fields of study in Sociology, Political Science, History, and Psychology, and Minors in Economics and Anthropology, and general education courses in Geography. The Department values open-ended inquiry, critical dialogue, and a commitment to respect for diversity in all aspects.

Adjunct faculty at SSU are eligible for tuition waivers () and enjoy professional development opportunities, office space, and limited mileage reimbursement. Employment with the University is dependent upon BOT budget approval for the current fiscal year. A background check is required prior to employment.
