ROLE: As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will join a team of professionals within the Technical Services (TS) organization, who provide quality and engineering oversight, guidance, and assistance to Business Units (BUs) within HEICO Parts Group (HPG). In this role, you will perform mainly quality assurance tasks such as BU compliance audits to FAA regulations, corporate policies and industry standards. You may be required to support quality control and process excellence tasks/projects. This position will have significant interaction with BUs at different levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain mutually trustful relationships with the Technical Services team, and BU personnel.
  • Assess BU compliance to HPG quality manual and policies, FAA regulations, corporate policies through a combination of desk reviews and onsite audit activities.
  • Classification of nonconformances and audit report generation.
  • Conduct risk analysis for identified non-conformances.
  • Facilitation of, and accountable for closure of Corrective and Preventive Actions arising from audit activities.
  • Ensure awareness of HPG corporate requirements at BU.
  • Promote a quality driven culture throughout the organization by applying effective quality practices and standards.
  • Continuously improve HPG quality auditing tools and practices.
  • Continually provide feedback on HPG Quality documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with business conditions. Facilitate implementation of changes warranted from the feedback.

BU QUALITY CONSULTATION TYPE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Capture and flow best practices to BUs, and to the extent possible, harmonize BU implementation of these practices, including inspection methodologies.
  • Act as a process compliance/quality assurance consultant to BU enabling a culture of collaboration and utilizing best practices.
  • Create training material and conduct training on quality assurance topics for Bus.
  • May be required to assist in developing quality inspection plans to help BUs streamline inspection methodologies.

TEAM SUPPORT:
  • Support HPG Quality Director in driving closure for customer complaints, analyzing trends, leading root cause and corrective actions to address defect trends. Also help with tracking waivers and mitigation plans as required.
  • Conduct risk analysis for the identified defect trends in partnership with key BU and TS personnel
  • Support HPG Quality Director in establishing and monitoring BU quality performance indicators based on audit results and risk analysis.
  • Perform additional tasks as required and assigned by the supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's in Science (BS) in industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and/or combination of education and experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 5 years product realization experience; scope should include Design, Process Design and Development, Process Analysis, Source Substantiation, Quality Planning and First Article Inspection reviews.
  • Aerospace product quality experience HIGHLY preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification desirable.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor certification desirable.
  • SAE AS9100 Internal Auditor certification desirable.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES
  • Deep understanding of quality management principles and practices such as ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.
  • Ability to interpret requirements to verify drawing and quality requirements and determine conformance of inspection outcomes. Proficient in Drawing Interpretation per ASME Y14.5 and GDnT practices.
  • Knowledge of bench layouts/various inspection methodologies
  • FAA Orders and Policies, Advisory Circulars, Service Difficulty Reports and Airworthiness Directives: Ability to effectively interpret content to provide oversight and guidance.
  • Approachable with high level of emotional intelligence, awareness of political landscapes with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, written and verbally, at all levels, lead meetings, discussions.
  • Must thrive in a team oriented and deadline driven environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understanding of various business functions and cross group dependencies/relationships.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Stay current with industry best practices
  • Ability to become accredited in two of the following within the first 12 months of service: Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, and/or AS9100 Internal Auditor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Office environment, phone/computer work, low noise level except when on the manufacturing floor where it will be medium to high level.
  • Must be willing and able to travel (up to 25%) to BU or facilities, sometimes at short notice.
