Duties: The Supplier Quality Engineer at CNH Industrial America LLC in Oak Brook, IL will handle relationships with key suppliers to ensure CNH quality standards are met. Serve as the driver of
supplier quality excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement for his supply base. Collaborate closely with internal teams, including purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing plants, to improve quality of product and process. Develop and implement progressive supplier quality strategy to enhance overall supplier quality performance. Lead cross-functional initiatives that promote supplier development, process excellence, and zero-defect culture. Cultivate long-term partnerships with suppliers through coaching, training, and collaboration.
Lead new supplier selection and qualification processes through Potential Supplier Audits (PSA) and business case evaluations. Ensure adherence to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Implement preventative quality strategies to mitigate risks before they impact production through Technical Reviews (TR), Quality Risk Assessments (QRA), Program Reviews (PR) and Process Audits (PA). Manage Supplier Quality Performance (SQP) and track PIQ/PPM metrics to ensure compliance. Ensure
CSL1/CSL2 containment protocols are effectively executed to prevent non-conformities from reaching the production line. Enforce corrective and preventive actions (using 8D, 5Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, Control Plans, Poke Yoke and DOE methods) to resolve supplier issues efficiently. Lead resolution of top warranty issues for suppliers and contribute to Field Quality Index (FQI). Assist with Strategic Sourcing Program initiatives to enhance supplier quality and reliability. Up to 50% domestic and international travel. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week. Salary $123,635 - $144,375/year.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a directly related field plus 6 years of experience as a product engineer, mechanical engineer, or related occupation in manufacturing, quality control, or design of hydraulics components. The 6 years of experience must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: (1) designing mechanical systems and components, including castings, fabrications, machined parts, sheet metal, plastics, assemblies, and hydraulic systems; (2) designing components or systems for off-highway, agricultural, construction, or industrial equipment in compliance with performance requirements, standards, and regulations; (3) designing, developing, and integrating hydraulic and mechanical systems, including fluid power components, hoses, tubes, plumbing layouts, system-level design validation, and verification activities; (4) APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DVP&R, control plans, and DFMA; (5) 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DOE, and RCCA to address design, process, supplier, or field quality issues; (6) collaborating with suppliers, sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams on design review, supplier development, cost-reduction initiatives, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation; and (7) project management methodologies, including Six Sigma or equivalent.
