DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT CARE SERVICESย 

JOB SUMMARY

  • Assist the Administrator with the process of admissions toย communityย to includeย interviewing, assessing, verifying income, and completion of all pertinent paperwork.ย  Must set up all new residents in Point Click Care initially and on-going as care plans and needs of residents change.ย  Must complete all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual assessments as required and set up in Point Click Care.ย 
  • Assess, develop, and implement a care plan for each resident initially and on an ongoing basis as determined by the needs of the resident.ย 
  • Report to and obtain orders from physicians regarding each resident.ย  May delegate this to Med Techs/LPN as appropriate and with supervision.ย  Must ensure that all orders are being followed and accurate documentation and entry is performed in Point Click Care.ย 
  • Must be knowledgeable of allย Liberty Senior Livingย Policiesย and Procedures as well as State Rules and Regulations for Assisted Living Communities.ย 
  • Obtain medication for each resident from Long-Term pharmacy.ย  May delegate this to Med Techs/LPN as appropriate and with supervisionย 
  • Chart on each resident and/or delegation to medication technicians with supervision according to Facility Policies and Procedures.ย 
  • Orient, teach, and train staff on all resident care policies and proceduresย including Point Click Care.ย ย 
  • Coordinate resident services with other professionals as ordered by the physician or as assessment and care plan dictate.ย 
  • Implement an infection control program, train staff, ensure compliance and conductย annual reviews.ย 
  • Order and maintain medical supplies as necessary with proper accounting program for charging residents for personal items.ย 
  • Weekly and monthly assessments of resident as well as taking vital signs, and administering all IM injections.ย  May delegate this to Med Techs/LPN as appropriate with supervision.ย 
  • Coordinate with families and update families on a weekly and/or monthly basis on the status of resident as well as contacting immediately in the event of fall, sickness, etc.ย 
  • Maintain and supervise medication administration, medication ordering, medication count of controlled substances, and charting for each resident.ย 
  • Supervise and maintain records for Supervisors, Resident Aides, and Housekeeping, etc.ย employees, including TB screening, and Hepatitis B vaccine for allย employees.ย 
  • Develop, implement, and train resident care staff on emergency procedures to be followed regarding fire, disaster, and resident incident and care issues.ย 
  • Conductย or arrange for pertinentย training for Resident Rights, Infection Control, OSHA Safety, Back Safety, Needle Stick Safety,ย Dementia,ย etc.ย 
  • Perform scheduling for all staff usingย Workforce Managementย and assumeย and arrange forย on-call responsibilities and respond to calls of an emergency nature from resident and/or supervisor on duty as needed even if reporting to work is necessary to assess the situation.ย 
  • Follow all policies and procedures, model relationship and leadership abilities, and work cooperatively and supportively with the residents, family members and friends, professionals,
  • Executive Director, department heads, supervisors, and all other staff.ย 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by theย Administratorย 
  • Must be able to be reached at all times by telephone otherwise authorized by the Administrator.ย 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.ย 
  • Must be qualified as Administrator-in-Charge or Supervisor-in-Charge based on the Assisted Living Rules and Regulations.ย 
  • Must have experience in working with geriatric and dementia residents.ย 
  • Must be 21years of age or older and have valid and clean driver license.ย 
  • Must be willing to care for geriatric patients and have a genuine concern for their welfare.ย 
  • Must be willing toย delegate, supervise,ย receive, understand, and follow orders.ย 
  • Must be willing to work and cooperate well with other nursing staff, other departments, and families andย visitors.ย 
  • Must be kind and respectful to patients, staff, and visitors.ย 
  • Must be able to use equipment without jeopardizing the safety of self, others, or equipment and use suppliesย safelyย and economically.ย 
  • Demonstrates neat appearance, dress code,ย and good personal hygiene.ย 
  • Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and Communityย policies and procedures.ย 
  • Must attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required as well as complete onlineย training.ย
