What is the difference between Podcasting vs Audio Editing?

AspectPodcasting
Primary FocusCreating and hosting audio content for audiences
Skills RequiredContent creation, hosting, storytelling, basic audio editing
Work EnvironmentHome studios, recording studios, online platforms
CertificationsNone typically required, but audio production certifications can help

Podcasting involves producing and hosting audio shows for an audience, often requiring skills in content creation and storytelling. Audio editing, on the other hand, focuses specifically on the technical process of editing audio files to improve sound quality. While podcasting may include some editing, it encompasses broader responsibilities like content planning and hosting. Both roles often overlap in skills and work environments, but their core focuses differ: one on content delivery, the other on technical audio refinement.

Job description

Have you ever wanted to create a video podcast? Then this is your course. In this class, students will take a deep dive into what it takes to create a successful video podcast. We'll examine what makes a podcast stand out from the competition. Learn how to develop a program that engages your audience, leaving them wanting to come back for more. Students will discover how to effectively communicate new ideas, tell stories, build, and keep an audience. To achieve that, you need more than a mic, camera, and a laptop. This course explores the entire production process. From defining your concept, finding your personal style/genre, writing, producing, editing to final distribution, we'll analyze different successful shows and discover what makes them tic. At the end of the day, what makes a successful video podcast? Hands on experience.

  • Available to Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Oak Grove School District students
