Overview:
Talcott's Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to deeply immerse themselves in real-life business challenges! As part of this ten-week fast-paced summer program, students work side by side with our industry. Our internship opportunity shall be a weekly hybrid onsite work arrangement in our contemporary Hartford, Connecticut campus on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Throughout this experience, students will dive into business assignments that shall expand their technical expertise, business knowledge and leadership skills. In addition to hands-on learning, Talcott's internship program offers an extensive calendar of enrichment activities to support a student's personal growth! We sponsor frequent social events where our interns can directly interact with members of our leadership team among many other disciplines.
Our Project Manager Intern shall work as part of Talcott's Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to support key business initiates and the governance of our enterprise portfolio of projects. The selected candidate shall support the planning and execution of assigned projects. They will also work to evolve productive business relationships with internal and external partners in support of successful project processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the PMO in maintaining and updating the project portfolio dashboard.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing project data across multiple business units.
  • Prepare executive summaries and visual reports for senior leadership.
  • Participate in project review meetings and document key outcomes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to gather status updates and risk assessments.
  • Create materials for portfolio health reviews, metrics, and roadmap planning.
  • Learn about our project management processes and tools to assist with improvements.
  • Partner with Portfolio Management team to develop continuous feedback mechanisms and improvements to operating structure, tools, and processes.
  • Organize team events, training, and guest speakers.

Qualifications:
  • Our preferred candidate is a rising junior or senior Bachelor's Degree candidate or graduate student, with a field of study focused on management, finance, marketing, or technology

  • Team oriented with the ability to work well independently
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to "do what it takes" to meet business deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while effectively managing conflicting priorities
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience with reporting tools like ADO, Power BI, or Smartsheet.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is required
