What is a PMHNP and what does PMHNP research involve?

A PMHNP, or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, is an advanced practice nurse who specializes in mental health care, including the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. This research helps improve patient care, informs clinical guidelines, and advances the field of psychiatric nursing.

To excel as a PMHNP in research, you need advanced psychiatric nursing knowledge, experience in clinical research, and at least a master's or doctoral degree in nursing.
