Responsibilities

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Perform their own calibration work with little to no supervision
  • Must be able to explain calibration issues and processes to customers when needed
  • Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from manager
  • Able to conduct calibration work at customer onsites with little to no supervision
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques and be able to design budgets.
  • Clear comprehension of uncertainties
  • Maintain calibration standards.
  • Must be able to perform these functions within a laboratory or customer onsite setting
  • Must be able to gather and process data review when necessary
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of designated work schedule

Primary Objectives:

  • Train and develop fellow technicians in a management role
  • Coordinate work schedule for the lab
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Provide detail analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties
  • Develop and produce budgets
  • Develop and produce data reviews

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be fully experienced in at least two disciplines or advanced understanding of multiple disciplines
  • Extensive statistical background preferred
  • Familiarity with complex tools and equipment
  • Must be able to work with and understand new equipment
  • Advanced proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Elite interpersonal skills when interact with customers
  • Position will include team lead and managerial responsibilities
  • Candidates with experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics highly desired

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) or TMDE (Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment) training + military experience in the calibration field plus 2+ years civilian experience preferred.
  • Senior calibration technicians will be required pass the ASQ CCT.
