IT Support Specialist

Senior Services / Nonprofit Healthcare Industry

Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

90-Day Contract with Strong Potential for Extension

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join a well-established nonprofit organization serving the senior healthcare community in Detroit. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys supporting end users in a collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact. You'll provide day-to-day technical support for approximately 150 users, helping maintain business continuity during a period of increased IT demand.


What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user technical support requests.
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 desktops, laptops, hardware, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Prepare, image, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks, including user account administration and password resets.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, mailbox access, and group memberships.
  • Coordinate hardware repairs with vendors and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Follow security best practices and support compliance within a HIPAA-regulated environment.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate and maintain thorough documentation of support activities.


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of IT Support, Help Desk, or Desktop Support experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 troubleshooting experience.
  • Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Security-minded approach with cybersecurity awareness.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID experience.
  • Exchange Online administration.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Experience supporting a HIPAA-regulated environment.
  • PowerShell familiarity.


Additional Information

  • 100% onsite in Detroit, MI.
  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
  • Very minimal local travel, if any.
  • Occasional laptop deployments requiring lifting of equipment up to 20 lbs.
  • Contract position expected to begin ASAP with a strong possibility of extension based on business needs.
