Job description

About This Role
RGP is seeking an interim Data Engineer consultant to support the Cloud Finance Optimization Organization's Revenue team for a global high-tech client, which enables Cloud's revenue booking and reporting through systems development, stakeholder alignment, and SDLC practices. The environment includes a large set of SQL scripts, workflows, tables, dashboards, and pipelines supporting critical revenue and bookings reporting. Many of these assets have evolved over time and now require stabilization, standardization, and modernization to improve scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
Project Duration : ASAP through 12/31/26 with opportunity for extension into FY27
Location Requirement : US-based and aligned to US working hours
Pay Rate: $70-$85/hr DOE
What You Will Work On
This role focuses on enhancing and productionizing existing data workflows within a finance systems environment, with emphasis on revenue and accounting data processes. The consultant will work across complex pipelines and large datasets to improve data quality, streamline architecture, support reconciliations to source systems, and align development with structured SDLC practices.
What You Will Bring
The ideal consultant brings strong data engineering skills paired with experience supporting finance or revenue systems in operational environments.
Technical Expertise
  • Advanced SQL and large-scale data workflow development experience
  • Strong data engineering background with experience building, maintaining, and optimizing complex pipelines and reporting environments
  • Experience working with large datasets, multiple dependent workflows, and highly interconnected tables
  • Hands-on experience working within the Google data and analytics ecosystem, including tools such as BigQuery, PLX, Piper, or similar Google development environments.
  • Experience working with revenue accounting systems such as SAP RAR, RevPro, or Zuora.
  • Experience operating within structured SDLC environments including testing, deployment, and production support processes

Finance & Domain Experience
  • Experience in Finance, Revenue, Accounting, or Finance Systems organizations
  • Familiarity with revenue reporting, bookings, backlog, or revenue accounting (nice to have)
  • Experience with reconciliations to source of truth systems

Preferred Experience
  • Modernization or stabilization of legacy data/reporting environments
  • Exposure to BI/dashboarding tools for finance reporting
  • Cross-functional experience supporting business-critical reporting infrastructure
