Position Summary-AssistantManager

Turner Ace Hardware has an immediate opening foranAssistantManager.TheAssistantManager will support the Store Manager in the management and coordination of all operations functions. They willlead, develop,support,and manage associates.The Assistant Managersupervises, plans,directsand coordinatesall store activities, including check-out areas, returns, special services, computer systems,andreceiving, unloading,distributing,and stocking merchandise.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure the store is stocked, clean and ready for business every day
  • Ensure that open/close procedures are followed
  • Resolve customer complaints ina timelyand satisfactory manner
  • Make sure that the sales floor is clear, organized and properly signed, and that the receiving floor is clear of pallets and trash
  • Maintainrecord keeping accurately, includingemployee files and documents
  • Maintain accurate in-stock position on the floor, including ordering when appropriate
  • Make sure merchandise is properly signed, tagged, and organized
  • Responsible for training all associates on store policies and procedures
  • Develop the weekly work schedule
  • Delegate daily workload among associates
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model

MinimumRequirements

Theminimumrequirements for this position include:

  • Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn
  • Minimum 2 years retail management experience

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and develop others
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems, MSWordand Excela plus.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings,weekendsand holidays to meet the needs of the business

Physical Requirements

Theminimumphysical requirements for this position include:

  • Ability to stand for an extendedperiod of time
  • Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store and perform all functions as set forth, which entails lifting at least 50lb, bending, twisting
