Job description

Plumbing EngineerWe are seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join a growing MEP engineering team supporting a wide variety of commercial projects. This individual will be responsible for the design, layout, and coordination of plumbing systems from concept through construction administration. The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
  • Design plumbing systems for commercial projects including domestic water, sanitary waste/vent, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty systems
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams
  • Perform plumbing load calculations and equipment sizing
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and client coordination
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, plumbing codes, and industry standards
  • Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and technical execution
  • Mentor junior designers and assist with QA/QC reviews as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of plumbing design experience within an MEP consulting environment
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of IPC, UPC, and applicable local codes
  • Experience with commercial project types such as healthcare, education, multifamily, hospitality, office, or mixed-use
  • PE license preferred or actively pursuing licensure
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
