About Us:
Welcome to Advance Plumbing & Heating Supply Company, a fourth-generation family owned and operated business, started in 1920. The company's original location was at 2984 Grand River Ave. in Detroit, across from the Motor City Casino. On October 31st, 2016 we moved to our new location at 150 Parsons St. in Midtown Detroit. The new state-of-the-art location features the City of Detroit's first ever Decorative Plumbing Showroom which opened in winter of 2018.
In 1990, with a solid reputation for excellence and an expanding market, Advance opened up a second location in Walled Lake, Michigan which features a state-of-the-art 5,000-square foot decorative plumbing showroom and an outstanding plumbing & heating parts counter.
What You'll Do:
Advance Plumbing stocks over 13,000 items from pipes, valves and fittings to faucets, sinks, shower products, water heaters and much more in order to serve the customer in a timely manner. The ability to provide the products customers' need, when they need them has remained a staple throughout the Advance Plumbing history. By continuously, updating and improving warehousing process we are able to recognize purchasing trends as they evolve and minimize out-of-stock products as well as maintain timely and accurate delivery orders. If we do not stock an item that you need, we can easily order it as we have access to hundreds of manufacturers.
Some Duties May Include:
o Shipping and receiving of orders, sorting and processing shipments, loading and unloading deliveries
o Process incoming fright trucks in a timely manner
o Read customer order, work order or shipping order to assemble orders from stock and place on a pallet or shelf
o Complete picking and staging outbound shipments
o Prepare packing and shipping documents
o Ensure a high-quality output through the accuracy of processes, tasks and work product
o Maintaining a safe work environment by completing organization and housekeeping of the warehouse
Requirements
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
o Lift up to 50 pounds
o Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
o Proper usage of equipment, including but not limited to carts, dollies, pallet jack or forklift, and other gear to move inventory around
o Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
