To thrive as a Plumber, you need a solid understanding of plumbing systems, pipe installation, and repair, usually supported by an apprenticeship or vocational training and relevant licensure. Familiarity with tools such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and diagnostic equipment, as well as certification in safety standards, is typically required. These skills ensure safe, code-compliant installations and repairs while fostering trust and satisfaction among clients.

Hourly pay rates for plumbers can vary depending on several factors, including experience level, certifications, geographic location, and the type of employer (such as union vs. non-union shops or residential vs. commercial work). Overtime, emergency call-outs, and the complexity of jobs can also impact overall earnings, so it's important for job seekers to consider how these elements may affect their compensation.
