Plumbing Subject Matter Expert

Hunton Services is seeking a Plumbing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the growth of our commercial service business by identifying, developing, and helping close plumbing-related opportunities across our existing customer base.

This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise and sales, acting as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and customers. The ideal candidate brings strong plumbing knowledge in commercial environments and is comfortable engaging with customers, identifying needs, and helping translate those needs into service solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Managers, Service Technicians, and Operations teams to identify plumbing-related service and project opportunities
  • Serve as the technical expert for plumbing systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and solution development
  • Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and uncover opportunities for repair, replacement, or upgrades
  • Support the development of proposals, scopes of work, and pricing for plumbing services
  • Collaborate with sales teams to position plumbing solutions within broader HVAC/mechanical service offerings
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers as a trusted technical advisor
  • Assist in estimating and job walks for plumbing-related work
  • Stay informed on industry trends, codes, and best practices to support high-quality recommendations
  • Help drive revenue growth by expanding plumbing service offerings within existing accounts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing (service, installation, or project work)
  • Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, codes, and troubleshooting practices
  • Experience interacting with customers in a service or consultative capacity
  • Ability to identify opportunities and support sales efforts without being a traditional "hard sales" role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments (sales, operations, service teams)
  • Texas plumbing license preferred (Journeyman or Master), but not required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a commercial HVAC/mechanical service environment
  • Exposure to estimating, quoting, or project scoping
  • Prior experience in a hybrid technical/sales or solutions-oriented role
