Plumber – JLL

What this job involves: Join JLL's building operations team as a Plumber at a technology company facility in Franklin/Hopkinton, Massachusetts. In this critical role, you'll be the go-to expert for maintaining and repairing all plumbing systems and equipment that keep our building running smoothly. Working alongside a dedicated engineering team, you'll ensure reliable water supply, drainage, and waste systems while delivering exceptional service to building occupants. This hands-on position combines technical expertise with problem-solving skills to maintain safe, efficient plumbing operations. Your work directly contributes to JLL's commitment to operational excellence and creating environments where our clients and their employees thrive. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including water supply lines, drainage systems, waste disposal systems, water heating equipment, and backflow prevention devices while monitoring system logs for proper operation.

  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures (faucets, toilets, urinals, sinks, water fountains), clear clogged drains and sewage lines, and maintain pumps and grease traps using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Manage work order system (CMMS) daily to complete tenant service requests promptly while ensuring excellent customer service and clear communication with building occupants.

  • Conduct water quality testing, coordinate water treatment programs, and implement preventative maintenance schedules in compliance with JLL and client guidelines.

  • Oversee contractor activities within the building, prepare purchase order requests for plumbing supplies, conduct inventory checks, and review major repairs for quality assurance.

  • Ensure compliance with Massachusetts plumbing codes, cross-connection control regulations, and safety procedures including proper lockout/tagout when working on systems.

  • Respond effectively to plumbing emergencies including water leaks, pipe breaks, and sewage backups while communicating status updates to clients and building occupants.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completed apprenticeship program or trade school education in plumbing.

  • Valid journeyman or master plumber's license (as required by Massachusetts state/local jurisdiction).

  • 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience in customer service and maintenance operations, preferably in commercial or institutional building environments.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, tools, techniques, and Massachusetts plumbing codes and regulations.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications related to plumbing systems.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders up to 40 feet, climb, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces, varying temperatures, and awkward positions.

  • Valid driver's license and comfort working in various conditions including small spaces, heights, scaffolding, and standing on concrete for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with water supply systems, drainage systems, water heaters, backflow preventers, and various plumbing fixtures in complex building environments.

  • Knowledge of water treatment, cross-connection control, and backflow prevention best practices.

  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and mechanical equipment operation and interaction with plumbing systems.

  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.

  • Experience performing facility inspections, due diligence efforts, and supporting preparation of monthly/quarterly operations reports.

  • Ability to train others on proper use and care of plumbing tools and equipment while sharing technical expertise with team members.

Location: Franklin/Hopkinton, Massachusetts

Work Shift: 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, with on-call expectation

Salary: $38.46 - $43.26

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

80,000.00 – 90,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
