Description:

ColonialWebb hiring experienced commercial Plumber and Pipefitter Foremen to provide field leadership and technical support for commercial plumbing and piping projects. As a Foreman, you will direct the day-to-day work activities of plumbing/pipefitter mechanics and helpers, ensuring projects are completed safely and in accordance with budget and quality standards. Typical construction projects include hospitals, data centers, high-rises, universities, secondary schools, and government facilities.

A day in the life:

  • Work side by side with mechanics and helpers, provide guidance and demonstrate best practices to ensure job quality and customer satisfaction
  • Supervise and coordinate work activities for mechanics and helpers
  • Demonstrate a passion for safety, help your team understand that safety is the top priority as a result of teaching and coaching behaviors that will truly prevent injury
  • Inspects work in process and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision
  • Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge and capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
  • Work safely, encourage others to do so, and comply with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures and practices
  • Installation of equipment, plumbing and piping made of various materials

You should have:

  • Current or previous leadership experience as a Foreman working on commercial projects
  • In-depth experience and knowledge of commercial plumbing systems
  • Master's or Journeyman Plumbing License (preferred, not required)
  • Possess knowledge of applicable code (i.e., International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code) and general HVAC systems
  • Ability to install work from drawings, submittals and specifications
  • Ability to direct crews to install work safely with quality and efficiency
  • Ability to read and understand project related documents in the English language
  • Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
  • OSHA 10-hour certification and knowledge OSHA safety regulation
  • Foresight and problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions with information on hand
  • Ability to communicate and deal effectively with teammates in other trades
  • Experience and demonstrated skills with Microsoft office and internet usage
