In this hybrid, hands-on role, you’ll perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance on both mechanical and plumbing systems in residential environments. Key Responsibilities PreferredHVAC / Mechanical Work
  • Install, service, and repair furnaces, AC units, heat pumps, and mini-splits.
  • Modify ductwork, balance airflow, and install thermostats and zoning controls.
  • Diagnose and correct HVAC system performance issues.
  • Perform equipment upgrades and change-outs to meet current code.
Plumbing Work
  • Install and maintain water supply and DWV piping, fixtures, and water heaters (tank/tankless).
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues including leaks, pressure drops, and drainage concerns.
  • Complete plumbing rough-ins and finish installations on remodels and additions.
  • Ensure all plumbing work is leak-free, code-compliant, and built to last.
Combined Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks.
  • Accurately diagnose system failures and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness, organization, and documentation.
  • Ensure proper operation of all systems before leaving each job.
Customer Interaction
  • Explain system conditions, repair recommendations, and installation processes to homeowners.
  • Provide courteous, professional service at every jobsite.
  • Maintain a clean, respectful work area inside client homes.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Journeyman Plumbers License, Master Plumbers License
  • Plumbing Contractor License—or eligibility and readiness to obtain it quickly. (preferred)
  • Six thousand hours of HVAC documented experience (preferred)
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in both trades.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, installation manuals, and technical diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation (or ability to operate a company vehicle).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mini-splits, high-efficiency systems, and tankless water heaters.
  • Prior experience on remodels, additions, or system change-outs.
  • Strong time management skills across multiple service calls.
  • Interest or experience in mentoring junior technicians.
