What is the difference between Plumber Inspector vs Plumbing Contractor?
| Aspect | Plumber Inspector | Plumbing Contractor |
|---|---|---|
| Certifications | State plumbing inspector license, certifications in plumbing codes | State plumbing license, contractor license, certifications in plumbing installation |
| Work Environment | Inspecting plumbing systems in new or existing buildings, compliance checks | Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential or commercial projects |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Government agencies, building departments, inspection firms | Construction companies, plumbing firms, general contractors |
While both roles require plumbing knowledge and certifications, a Plumber Inspector primarily focuses on inspecting plumbing work for compliance with codes, whereas a Plumbing Contractor actively installs and repairs plumbing systems. The inspector ensures safety and standards, while the contractor executes plumbing projects.
