Job description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Sheet Metal General Foreman to lead and oversee multiple commercial plumbing projects simultaneously. This role is essential to maintaining field productivity, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality workmanship. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excels in coordination and communication, and brings a proven track record of managing complex job sites under tight schedules. This position reports directly to the Plumbing Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Sheet Metal crews across multiple job sites.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure proper installation of plumbing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain workflow.
  • Schedule manpower, tools, and materials to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections to ensure work meets or exceeds quality standards.
  • Mentor and train apprentices and journeyman plumbers.
  • Report progress, delays, and field issues directly to the Plumbing Superintendent.
  • Oversee and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards on job sites.
  • Assist with project planning, layout, and execution of plumbing scope.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or foreman capacity.
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously for a large-scale contractor.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and plumbing diagrams.
  • Deep knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus.
