Job description

Koniag Operations Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking Master Plumber a TS/SCI Security clearance to support KOS and our government customer in Arlington, VA. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. Koniag Operations Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Master Plumber to oversee plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs for our facilities operations in Arlington, VA. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled plumbing professional with extensive expertise in water and wastewater systems, plumbing codes, and regulations, and a proven track record of leading plumbing projects and teams to successful completion. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance to support Koniag Operating Services and our government customer. This position is on-site in Arlington, VA. The Master Plumber will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plumbing installations, maintenance, and repair operations across assigned facilities, with a primary focus on water and wastewater systems. This role requires a seasoned plumbing professional capable of managing and supervising teams of plumbers, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable codes, maintenance manuals, and governing documents, and leading plumbing projects from conception to completion in accordance with industry, federal, and Department of State (DOS) regulations. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Oversee and manage all plumbing installations, maintenance, and repair activities across assigned facilities, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations. * Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of plumbers and plumbing technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing technical guidance and support. * Repair and maintain all water and wastewater systems across assigned facilities, ensuring operational reliability, safety, and compliance with applicable standards. * Plan, coordinate, and manage plumbing projects from conception through completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. * Ensure all plumbing work is performed in strict compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and DOS standards and requirements. * Ensure supervisory personnel possess the skills, knowledge, and qualifications necessary to ensure subordinates perform their work in accordance with all applicable codes, maintenance manuals, and other governing documents under the Performance Work Statement (PWS). * Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems and installations to identify deficiencies, assess safety risks, and implement corrective actions as needed. * Troubleshoot and diagnose complex plumbing system failures and malfunctions, implementing effective and timely solutions to minimize operational disruptions. * Review and interpret plumbing blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications to guide installation and repair activities. * Coordinate with facilities management, project managers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of plumbing work within broader facility operations and projects. * Ensure all plumbing permits are obtained and maintained in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements. * Maintain accurate records of all plumbing work performed, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, project documentation, and compliance records. * Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for plumbing systems and equipment to ensure long-term reliability and safety. * Manage inventory of plumbing supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper maintenance of tools and equipment. * Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations, conducting regular safety briefings and training as needed. * Respond to emergency plumbing issues and after-hours calls as required to ensure the safety and continuity of facility operations. * Coordinate with DOS leadership and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise and recommendations on plumbing systems and projects. Education and Experience:
Required: * High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). * Valid Master Plumber License issued by the appropriate state or local licensing authority. * 8+ years of experience as a licensed plumber, with demonstrated experience in a Master Plumber or senior leadership role. * Extensive experience in plumbing installations, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater systems across commercial, industrial, or government facility environments. Clearance Requirement: * Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. Required Skills and Competencies: * Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems, components, and equipment, including water supply, wastewater, drainage, and related systems. * In-depth knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and DOS standards and requirements. * Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of plumbers and plumbing technicians. * Proven ability to plan, manage, and execute plumbing projects from conception to completion, on time and within scope. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications. * Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex plumbing system failures effectively and efficiently. * Thorough knowledge of water and wastewater system repair and maintenance, including pumps, valves, piping, and related components. * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and assignments simultaneously. * Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, management, and government stakeholders. * Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including inspection reports, maintenance logs, and project records. Desired Skills and Competencies: * Associate's degree or higher in Plumbing Technology, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field. * Experience working in a federal government facilities management or O&M contracting environment. * Familiarity with Department of State (DOS) facilities operations, standards, and requirements. * Experience with backflow prevention systems, grease traps, and other specialized plumbing systems. * Knowledge of water treatment and water quality management systems. * Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as IBM Maximo, for tracking work orders and maintenance activities. * OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification. * Experience managing plumbing budgets, including tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities. * Knowledge of sustainable and water-efficient plumbing practices and technologies. * Familiarity with green building standards and water conservation best practices, such as LEED certification requirements. * Experience coordinating with local utilities and regulatory agencies on water and wastewater system compliance matters.
