Job description

Driver / Warehouse Technician

The Driver/Warehouse Technician will have the primary responsibility of transporting goods and materials between our production facility and off-site warehousing locations. This role will also be responsible for a range of activities within the warehousing and order fulfillment stages of our production operation. The ideal candidate must be able to operate a 26' straight truck safely in compliance with all rules of the road and in all weather conditions. This role may be required to work rotational shifts including early mornings, nights and weekends. Physical demands include but are not limited to: the operation of electric and manual pallet jacks, heavy lifting and pushing/pulling movements. The model candidate would exhibit a proven track record of success with driving duties along with a teamwork spirit and willingness to support a variety of warehousing functions. A CDL is required for this role.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport finished goods and raw materials safely over land between warehouse(s) and production facility
  • Operate delivery vehicle safely at all times with the highest regard to the care of transported loads and the well-being of any passengers
  • Ensure delivery vehicle(s) are maintained in safe working condition and in compliance with all DOT standards
  • Strictly adhere to all traffic laws and rules of the road applicable to commercial vehicles
  • Prepare merchandise for shipment
  • Load trucks, and perform labeling of shipping information
  • Manage delivery schedules and take primary ownership for on-time deliveries
  • Perform proper and accurate cataloging of shipped inventory
  • Assist with order fulfillment for various departments
  • Support activities related to inventory control
  • Represent Plug Power professionally at all times and with all interactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education/training is preferred
  • At least one (1) of experience within a warehouse position; shipping/inventory experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with operating commercial vehicles
  • Valid CDL-B
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Must submit to a DOT physical including drug screening
  • Must comply with all U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations
  • Hazmat Endorsement; must be properly trained and certified in transporting hazardous materials, all certifications must be active
  • Certification in Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations under CFR 49 is preferred
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
  • Proven skill set with a variety of computer and software programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook and others. Avante inventory management experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs, pull up to 100lbs, and stand 100% of the time

Pay Rate:

$23.50 - $34.00
