Job description

Mindex is looking for a CT-MTSS Engineering Lead to lead the engineering team responsible for our ClearTrack and MTSS Edge products. This is a hands-on player/coach role where you'll combine people leadership with technical execution, guiding engineers while actively contributing to software design, development, code reviews, troubleshooting, and delivery.

You'll play a key role in modernizing a business-critical platform, strengthening engineering practices, expanding product knowledge across the team, and introducing AI-assisted development in a practical, measurable way. We're looking for someone who enjoys mentoring others, solving complex technical challenges, and driving continuous improvement across people, process, and technology.

Compensation
$105,000 - $155,000

What You'll Accomplish
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers through regular one-on-ones, performance feedback, career development, and mentorship
  • Guide the modernization of ClearTrack and MTSS Edge while maintaining stability for existing customers
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture that encourages accountability, shared ownership, and continuous learning
  • Contribute directly to software architecture, design, development, code reviews, production support, and technical troubleshooting
  • Document and expand application architecture, business rules, and product knowledge to reduce knowledge silos and strengthen long-term maintainability
  • Improve engineering practices by enhancing CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, release processes, automation, observability, and secure software development
  • Drive architectural decisions around APIs, web applications, data access, cloud technologies, and infrastructure modernization
  • Partner with Product, UX, QA, Support, CloudOps, and other engineering teams to prioritize work, manage dependencies, and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Lead technical response efforts for production issues and customer-impacting incidents through investigation, communication, and resolution
  • Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development practices across planning, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while measuring team effectiveness and outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership and people management responsibilities
  • Proven experience coaching engineers, leading teams, and delivering business-critical software applications
  • Strong background in software architecture, legacy application modernization, and enterprise application development
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, web applications, relational databases, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, source control, deployment automation, and release management using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, Ant, or similar
  • Experience with cloud-hosted applications, containerization, monitoring, observability, and production support
  • Strong understanding of secure software development practices, OAuth 2.0, authentication, authorization, API security, and data protection
  • Ability to learn and support Progress OpenEdge ABL; prior Progress OpenEdge experience is strongly preferred but not required
  • Experience collaborating with Product, UX, QA, Support, CloudOps, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment
  • Experience adopting or leading AI-assisted software development workflows is strongly preferred
