About the role
As a Lead Quality Engineer Test Automation with Playwright and Selenium Experience you will make an impact by designing and delivering modern test automation solutions that ensure high-quality digital experiences. You will be a valued member of the QA Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to drive quality across web applications.
In this role, you will:
  • Design and implement scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and integration testing
  • Partner with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) to enable continuous testing
  • Execute UI and API testing leveraging Playwright capabilities
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Rally, driving resolution with engineering teams
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Create and maintain test reports and dashboards to provide visibility into quality metrics
  • Contribute to test planning, estimation, and release readiness for new features

What you need to have to be considered
  • 8+ years of Quality Engineering experience, including hands-on Playwright UI automation
  • Strong experience with Selenium and Java-based automation frameworks
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Java for test development
  • Solid experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern
  • Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA lifecycle
  • Experience with defect management and test management tools (Rally preferred)

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to 112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
