Job description

Title: Automation QA Engineers/ Selenium/DataDog

Location: Remote/ EST – Only EST candidate

Duration: 1 year+

The key function Automation QA Engineers perform is writing scripts and creating automation environments for repeated tests. Using modern automation tools like Playwright, they design, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions. Their goal is to optimize testing efforts by automating processes with minimal code, freeing resources for more strategic tasks.  At ELC, you will also play a critical role in preventing breaking changes from moving to production by building and installing detection tools within CI/CD pipelines, proactively notifying users when code changes introduce breaking issues, and ensuring the reliability of our web-based applications.  As a QA Automation Engineer at ELC, you will design and implement automated test suites, work closely with the development team to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve our testing processes and standards. You will use automation techniques to meet both short- and long-term goals with accuracy and efficiency.

Skill Set Required:

  • Test Automation Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in building end-to-end test automation suites using tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • CI/CD Integration: Proven ability to design and integrate detection tools within CI/CD pipelines to prevent breaking code from being deployed.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Expertise in setting up systems to proactively notify stakeholders when breaking issues are identified in production.
  • DataDog Synthetics: Strong understanding and experience with application monitoring and alerting tools such as DataDog Synthetics.
  • Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, and Java.  Familiarity with Elixir and the Phoenix framework is a plus.
  • Analytical Thinking: Skilled in analyzing bug reports, prioritizing tests, and optimizing application functionality through automation.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to meticulously test web and mobile applications to find ways to improve them and isolate problems.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams, creating testing plans, and documenting results.

Tools Knowledge:

  • Automation Testing Tools: Expertise in Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium.
  • CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with Jenkin, GitHub, and pipeline management tools.
  • Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in DataDog Synthetics or similar platforms for monitoring application performance and availability.
  • Issue Tracking: JIRA for defect tracking and task management.
  • Version Control: Git-based version control systems for managing code.
