Job description

Job Title: Test Automation Lead – Web & API TestingOverview / Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Automation Lead for a retail client engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks for web, API, and end-to-end testing. This role involves leading automation efforts, developing reusable components, executing automation scripts, and driving continuous improvement in automation practices. Retail domain experience is preferred, particularly in eCommerce, order management, inventory, supply chain, or customer-facing digital applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Collaborate with QA, development, business, and product teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Build reusable automation components, libraries, utilities, and test data handling mechanisms.
  • Execute automated test suites and analyze test results.
  • Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar tools.
  • Support test planning, estimation, execution tracking, and defect management.
  • Improve automation coverage across critical business flows.
  • Mentor junior automation engineers and promote automation best practices.
  • Support API testing, backend validation, and data validation activities.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, automation scripts, and defects.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience in automation framework design and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright.
  • Good knowledge of Cypress and Robot Framework preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Java, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with API testing using Postman, REST-assured, or similar tools.
  • CI/CD integration experience using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar tools.
  • Experience with JIRA, qTest, ALM/QC, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and improve script stability.
  • Good SQL knowledge for backend validation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
