Job description

SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting Executive Director of Marketing in all functions of the Marketing Department. Represents Black Oak Casino Resort with respect and integrity at all times.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)

  • Works on special projects, market research, promotions, advertising and public relations.
  • Participates in developing marketing plan, budget, and execution of these plans.
  • Supervises marketing staff, provides coaching, counseling and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Assists management in planning and executing the overall marketing advertising plan.
  • Oversees projects and maintains daily contact with outside agencies.
  • Works closely with administrative staff to coordinate marketing activities to produce required reports, summaries, recommendations, and uses marketing staff to meet deadlines.
  • Works with a variety of vendors and other outside business professionals in performing daily activities.
  • Assists in managing marketing budget and in monitoring expenditures.
  • Assists and attends Analytic meetings for direct mail and tiered programs.
  • Manages and creates approval process for Free Play, promotional offers, direct mail program, hotel offers.
  • Manages and creates CSS (Promo Tracker) and CDS (Super Playmate) barcodes and group Free Play offers.
  • Works with Gaming Department, Finance Controller, Financial Analyst, Guest Development Director, Players Club, and IT Department to ensure CSS and CDS offers are audited and accurately managed.
  • Attends Sponsorship/Donation meetings and manages payment and outstanding items in need of approved sponsorships and donations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred.
  • Minimum of three years business/administrative experience with extensive marketing and prior supervisory experience.
  • Must have ability to work in a team environment and embrace Black Oak Casino Resort’s Mission and Values.
  • Must be computer proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California driver license and a Black Oak Casino Resort driver’s permit.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to travel with overnight stays required.
  • Must have strong motivational and leadership skills.
  • Must maintain flexible, varying 24-hour schedule to meet requirements of position.
  • Must have ability to convey a positive and professional image.
  • Must have ability to coordinate a high level of activities under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and more with assistance.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
