Job Summary
The Player Development Professional is responsible for creating an engaging, progressive learning environment that helps golfers of all skill levels improve and stay connected to the club. This role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction, building strong member relationships, and driving participation in coaching programs, events, and on-course play. By inspiring confidence and fostering enjoyment of the game, the Player Development Professional plays a key role in activating members, increasing retention, and supporting overall membership growth.
Reporting Structure
โ€ข Reports to the Director of Player Development or Director of Golf
Day to Day
โ€ข Provide coaching and player development activities, including swing assessments, lessons, clinics, and engagement events.
โ€ข Play golf regularly with an assigned group of members to encourage participation, improve retention, and build long-term relationships.
โ€ข Enhance player performance through customized instruction and professional club fitting.
โ€ข Plan, execute, and manage junior, adult, beginner, and social coaching programs that meet minimum participation goals.
โ€ข Drive membership growth by developing and managing a strong new member pipeline.
โ€ข Organize and execute outreach events to activate members, attract new golfers, and increase engagement.
Additional Duties
โ€ข Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
โ€ข Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
โ€ข Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
โ€ข Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
โ€ข Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
โ€ข Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
โ€ข Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team's success.
About You
Required
โ€ข High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
โ€ข Passion for playing golf and helping others improve.
โ€ข Strong interest in swing mechanics, athletic movement, and golf technology.
โ€ข Engaging, approachable personality with the ability to build confidence and connection in students.
โ€ข Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
โ€ข PGA/LPGA Professional Certification.
โ€ข Previous experience in golf instruction, coaching, or the golf industry.
โ€ข Strong understanding of golf fundamentals and player development concepts.
โ€ข Ability to work effectively with golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Physical Requirements
โ€ข Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
โ€ข Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., talking, hearing, and seeing.
