Location: Clarkston, GA
Pay Range: $25.00 – $45.00 hourly
Schedule: Full-time and part-time caseloads available

About Positive Growth, Inc.

Positive Growth, Inc. is a community-based outpatient mental health program serving children, adolescents, adults, and families. We are seeking a qualified Play Therapist to provide individual and family counseling with a focus on children and adolescents using play therapy and other developmentally appropriate interventions.

Position Summary

The Play Therapist provides assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation for children, adolescents, and families. This role uses play therapy techniques to help clients express emotions, build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and address behavioral or mental health concerns.

Essential Duties

  • Provide individual and family therapy using play therapy, expressive techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Complete assessments, screenings, diagnoses, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations.
  • Meet with clients and families in office, home, school, virtual, and community settings throughout metro Atlanta.
  • Provide parent/caregiver support, psychoeducation, and treatment recommendations.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, community agencies, and treatment team members.
  • Provide crisis intervention and make referrals for additional services when needed.
  • Attend clinical reviews, team meetings, and case conferences.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation, including BIRP notes.
  • Maintain required trainings, licensure, and continuing education.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Active Georgia license or associate license required, including LPC, LCSW, LMFT, APC, LMSW, or LAMFT

Experience working with children, adolescents, and families is required. Training or experience in play therapy is strongly preferred. LPC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred.

Candidates must be flexible to work days and evenings and able to provide in-person services.
