Job description

  • Due to Satterfield & Pontikes' continued growth and expansion, we are adding an Assistant Superintendent to our Austin team.We have a strong portfolio of active projects in the area, complemented by a substantial backlog of upcoming projects valued between $20 million and $300 million. Our pipeline spans multiple sectors, including education, medical, mixed-use, and various other commercial projects.

    Requirements:

    2 or more years of experience as a Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent with a Commercial General Contractor.

    Preferred: B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture.

    The role you will play:

    Assist the Superintendent with the scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and material deliveries

    Ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed and coded and forwarded to the account department

    Assist the Superintendent coordinate, schedule and manage all subcontractors and vendors, expedite vendors and subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis and identify and resolve construction problems as they develop

    Help the Superintendent maintain accurate timekeeping and cost records.

    Assist with project planning - support the development and execution of the pre-job plan. Assist with determining the construction techniques to be used to construct the project.

    Assist the Superintendent comply with all job site reporting requirements, including daily reports, sos, weekly unit reports, weekly updates to the "two-week look-ahead's" and monthly updates to the construction schedule.

    Help Project Managers comply with submittal schedule, contract documents and company reporting requirements

    Attending all jobsite meetings

    Maintain safety standards - monitor safety planning, execution, and documentation on assigned project.

    Maintain quality consistent with company standards

    Identify all potential change orders and back - charges that may affect project profitability and document them to the extent required

    Close out the project in compliance with the contract documents

    Notifying the Superintendent for labor and material needs
