NO CONTRACT

The Mercy Joplin MedSurg Service Line is made up of several specialty units that will provide experience with patient populations with a varying range of diagnoses and care needs.  Functionally, these units house and care for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions.  Whether you are a new grad nurse looking to build a strong base before launching into your future career/educational plans or an experienced nurse who enjoys variety in their everyday work, Med Surg is the place for you!

Our Surgical Unit is a 24-private bed unit that cares for a diverse surgical population including bariatric, kidney, and other abdominal surgeries. You will also support patients with GI conditions, such as GI bleeds, pancreatitis, urinary concerns and general medical overflow. Our Nurses work on a support team of educators, PCA/PCT's, Case Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, PT/OT and Speech Therapists.

*Day and Night Shifts Available! *

**Great stepping stone into our ICU and ED units**

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school

  • License: Current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
