Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our anesthesia care team. The CRNA will be responsible for administering intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A. classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics. Provides airway management services as needed throughout the hospital. 

Work-Life: 

  • HFWB is a level 3 trauma center with 15 OR’s providing the following services: Thoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, General, ENT, Urology, Orthopedic, Bariatric, Plastic Surgery, Colo-Rectal, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, and Pediatrics of all ages. We provide anesthesia services in 3 Endoscopy suites, MRI, EP, TEE, DCCV, CT, OB, and Bronchoscopy.  
  • 1-2 call shifts per 6-week schedule, minimal midnight shifts (average 2/year), 5-6  

weekend shifts on average per year 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop tailored anesthesia care plans. 
  • Administer anesthesia (general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care) in collaboration with surgeons and other healthcare providers. 
  • Monitor patients during procedures and manage any anesthesia-related complications. 
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications - External

Qualifications: 

  • Current RN license and CRNA certification (NBCRNA). 
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. 
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills. 
  • Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. 
  • Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with anesthesiologists and other health care providers. 

Certifications/Licensures Required and maintains currency of: 

  • Clinical Privileges • State of Michigan RN License • State Specialty Certification • CRNA Certification • ALS Certification • BLS Certification PALS certification
