Plastic Surgery Consultant information

How does a plastic surgery consultant collaborate with other healthcare professionals during patient care?

As a Plastic Surgery Consultant, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that may include anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical assistants, and other specialists such as dermatologists or oncologists. Collaboration is essential for developing comprehensive treatment plans, ensuring patient safety, and achieving optimal surgical outcomes. Regular case discussions, joint consultations, and participation in multidisciplinary meetings are common, helping to coordinate both surgical and post-operative care. This team-oriented approach not only enhances patient care but also provides opportunities for ongoing learning and professional growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a plastic surgery consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Plastic Surgery Consultant, you need advanced surgical skills, a medical degree, completion of a plastic surgery residency, and relevant board certification. Familiarity with surgical instruments, imaging technology, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and empathy are critical soft skills for building patient trust and achieving successful outcomes. These competencies ensure patient safety, high-quality care, and satisfaction in a complex, specialized medical field.

What is the difference between Plastic Surgery Consultant vs Plastic Surgeon?

Both roles require medical credentials, but the surgeon is directly involved in surgery, whereas the consultant focuses on patient assessment and treatment planning.

How do you become a plastic surgery consultant?

To become a plastic surgery consultant, one typically completes medical school, obtains a surgical residency, and completes a fellowship in plastic surgery. Certification by a recognized medical board and gaining experience in cosmetic or reconstructive procedures are also essential steps.

What does a plastic surgery consultant do?

A plastic surgery consultant advises patients on cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, evaluates their needs, and helps develop treatment plans. They often work closely with surgeons, have strong communication skills, and may assist with pre- and post-operative care to ensure patient satisfaction.

Job description

Patient Care Consultant, Plastic Surgery Sales

Location: Spring, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
Compensation: $75,000 to $150,000+ annually, based on performance

Lind Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is seeking a proven sales professional to join our team as a Patient Care Consultant, or PCC.

This is not an administrative position with some sales responsibilities. It is a sales position with patient care and administrative responsibilities.

The PCC serves as the primary relationship between the practice and prospective surgical patients, guiding them from their first inquiry through consultation, pricing, financing, scheduling, and the decision to move forward.

We are looking for someone who is confident, polished, organized, competitive, and comfortable selling high-value procedures ranging from several thousand dollars to more than $45,000.

About Lind Plastic Surgery & Med Spa

Lind Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is a growing, private plastic surgery and medical aesthetics practice located in Spring, Texas.

Led by Dr. Jeffrey G. Lind II, our practice provides breast, body, facial, and nonsurgical aesthetic procedures in a state-of-the-art facility that includes two AAAASF-certified operating rooms.

We are committed to safety, personalized care, natural-looking results, and a warm, high-end patient experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to new leads by phone, text, and email

• Conduct in-person and virtual patient consultations

• Build trust, identify patient goals, and address concerns

• Present surgical recommendations, pricing, financing, and available dates

• Confidently ask qualified patients to schedule surgery and place a deposit

• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective patients

• Re-engage older leads and previous consultations

• Prepare quotes and process deposits and payments accurately

• Maintain complete notes, tasks, and follow-up activity in the CRM and EMR

• Coordinate with the surgeon, clinical team, front office, and surgical scheduling team

• Meet or exceed monthly conversion and revenue goals

This position requires a high level of daily communication and follow-up. The right candidate must enjoy speaking with people, building relationships, using the phone, and managing a large number of sales opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

• Three or more years of successful sales experience

• A documented history of meeting or exceeding sales goals

• Experience selling high-ticket products or services

• Confidence discussing pricing and asking for the sale

• Strong follow-up, organization, and time-management skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Professional appearance and a polished patient-facing presence

• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn medical and CRM software

• A positive, accountable, team-oriented attitude

• Willingness to accept coaching and follow the practice’s sales process

Plastic surgery or medical aesthetics experience is preferred, but exceptional sales performance in luxury automotive, real estate, cosmetic dentistry, medical device, hospitality, fitness, wellness, or other high-ticket sales environments will also be considered.

Spanish fluency is highly valued.

What Success Looks Like

A successful PCC responds quickly, follows up consistently, builds trust, communicates value clearly, maintains accurate records, and confidently helps qualified patients make a decision.

Our patients should never feel pressured, but they should always feel informed, supported, and professionally guided.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation includes a base salary plus performance-based commission.

Expected annual earnings are approximately $75,000 to $150,000 or more, depending on results.

Benefits include:

• Health insurance, subject to eligibility

• Paid time off

• 401(k), subject to plan eligibility

• Employee benefits related to practice services and products

• Sales training and professional development

• Opportunity for increased income and responsibility as the practice grows

Application Requirements

Please submit:

• A current resume

• A brief cover letter explaining why you are a strong fit for this sales position

• A recent, professional headshot or clear current photo

Applicants should also be prepared to provide specific examples of:

• Previous sales goals or quotas

• Measurable sales results

• The highest-priced product or service personally sold

• Experience overcoming objections and closing sales

• Previous commission or performance-based compensation

Applications submitted without all requested materials may not be considered.
