Job description

     Night shift position: 12-hour shifts (7p-7a)  


Summary of Responsibilities: 

The Maintenance Technician will perform daily checks on plastic injection molding machines and

other production equipment to prevent malfunctions and reduce machine downtime.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs PM's, basic repairs, inspections, adjusts and/or replaces worn parts, and documents work performed.
  • Performs inventory of supplies used by maintenance department.
  • Inspects and maintains electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic components and maintains equipment safety features. 
  • Performs other plant PM or repairs to include lighting and auxiliary equipment. 
  • Maintains 5s cleanliness standards.
  • Utilizes safety equipment as appropriate for the work being performed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and hydraulic schematics. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, bend and stand for long periods of time and move about the facility for extended periods of time.

 

Physical Demands:

  •  Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand, and move about the facility for extended periods of time.

Competencies:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Must have at least 5 years of maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry. Injection molding experience preferred but not required.

  • Hydraulic, pneumatic and injection molding
