Job description

Quality Staffing, Inc., a leading full-service employment agency, is currently seeking an experienced Extrusion Operator to join a top company in Calhoun, GA. This is a D shift position, working from Thursday- Saturday every other Wednesday 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.  $17.00+ per hour

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be familiar with the operation of all rolls, switches, heaters, and aspirators on extrusion machines.
  • Must be familiar with the correct yarn path/yarn thread up of an extrusion machine, and able to rethread it in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for keeping yarn wraps pulled from rolls (quality).
  • Responsible for operating and doffing winders when the yarn cycle is complete.
  • Perform online quality inspection of yarn (i.e. shade, air tack, winding, proper labels, etc.).
  • Perform pack out of yarn on stretch wrap buggies (carts), and label with correct information in delivering a first quality product.
  • Transport yarn buggy to stretch wrap station for packaging.
  • Assist the crew leaders during product changes and spin pack changes when needed. 
  • Assist all other operators when needed. 
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of work area and assigned extrusion machine.
  • Maintain appropriate log documentation (i.e. Break Out Log). 
  • Report any discrepancies to the crew leader and supervisor.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

NEEDED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions from supervisor. 
  • Ability to write pertinent information on cases. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other operators, crew leader, supervisor, and plant management.
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division functions.
  • Arrive at workspace in a timely manner directed by supervisor.
