Job Description

Department: Plant Maintenance

Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Plant Maintenance position is routine plant clean-up, operating various pieces of equipment, and maintenance work. Plant Maintenance helps keep the rock crushing quarry operating properly.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position has no direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Routine plant and car clean-up.

  • Operate equipment such as water truck, skid steer/back hoe clean up, mower, weed eater, 35 ton haul truck or small loader.

  • Maintenance such as changing screens, liner changes, assist bearing changes on head pulleys, tail pulleys, and conveyors, adjusting wipers and belts, adjustments on cone crusher, and changing clips on conveyors as instructed.

  • Minimum welding and torching.

  • Hourly, daily, and weekly inspections.

  • Stop and start-up of plant.

  • Sampling.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Maintenance experience.

  • The ability to follow and enforce safe work practices.

  • Self-directed and can work independently with minimal supervision.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Good work attendance.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, walk for long durations.

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.

  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
