Job Role- Product Analyst

Location- Reston, VA/Plano, TX (Hybrid Flexible)

Experience Level: 6+ years as a Product Analyst or equivalent experience Role

Summary:

Overview Product Analyst contractor supporting business process analysis, vendor coordination, testing, and data-driven problem solving for Multifamily Loan Servicing.
Focus Areas Understanding complex processes, analyzing system behavior, writing requirements, developing test cases, executing data investigations, and supporting production issues.
Key Strengths Asking clarifying questions, synthesizing complexity, precise documentation, SQL-based analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Domain Knowledge Multifamily Loan Servicing preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Process Analysis Process Analysis Analyze Complex Multifamily business processes, system interactions, and data flows. Critical Thinking Ask clarifying questions to uncover nuances and ensure accurate understanding. Dependency Mapping Document process, system, and data dependencies across functional areas. Problem Breakdown Decompose ambiguous or complex challenges into clear, actionable components.
Requirements & Documentation Requirements
Writing Produce detailed business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications. Documentation Depth Capture edge cases, data conditions, dependencies, and downstream impacts. Process Mapping Create workflow diagrams using Visio or equivalent. Clarity & Accuracy Ensure documentation is clear for business, technical, and vendor teams. Data Analysis & SQL SQL Queries Write and run SQL queries for data validation, relationship analysis, and issue investigation. Data Validation Support data mapping, data condition analysis, and scenario reconstruction. Insights Translation Convert data findings into actionable recommendations across requirements, testing, and production support. Testing & Quality Assurance Test Case Development Write detailed test cases and acceptance criteria based on requirements. Execution & Defects Execute tests, document outcomes, and track defects through resolution. SIT, UAT, or E2E Support Partner with internal and vendor teams to validate system behavior and readiness. Quality Ownership Ensure delivered product enhancements align with expected business outcomes.
Vendor Collaboration (Moderate Interaction)
Requirements Clarification
Work with vendors to discuss requirements, data flows, and functional behavior. Deliverable Review Validate vendor deliverables for completeness and alignment with expectations. Readiness Support Assist in vendor readiness and rollout activities as needed. Issue Investigation Engage vendor teams during production issue triage and resolution. Production Support Issue Triage Investigate production issues using SQL, logs, and scenario reconstruction. Root Cause Analysis Collaborate with technology and vendor teams to identify issues and corrective actions. Release Support Participate in release validation and postdeployment checks. Controls Alignment Ensure operational and compliance-related controls remain intact.
Required Qualifications Experience 6+ years of product or business analysis experience in complex operational or technical domains. Analytical Skills Strong ability to break down complex topics, identify dependencies, and ask insightful questions.
Requirements Expertise
Proven experience writing high-quality functional specifications, user stories, and test cases. SQL Skills Ability to write SQL queries for data analysis and issue investigation. Technical Collaboration Able to understand system logic sufficiently to work effectively with technical teams (no coding required). Agile Experience Familiarity with Agile methodologies and workflows. Communication Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional engagement. Confidentiality Must adhere to confidentiality requirements; background check follows standard onboarding. Preferred Qualifications Industry Knowledge Familiarity with Multifamily Loan Servicing (nice to have).
