Job description

General Summary Responsible for producing, maintaining, and improving the reporting that supports the Lifecycle Management team's configuration, asset, and change activities. Pulls data from configuration management, ITAM/CMDB, and change-control systems to build accurate, timely reports and dashboards that give program and customer stakeholders visibility into asset inventory, CI status, license compliance, and lifecycle milestones (procurement through disposal).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops, maintains, and distributes recurring and ad hoc reports on Configuration Item (CI) status, asset inventory accuracy, license compliance, and lifecycle/refresh metrics.
  • Builds and maintains dashboards in the Configuration/Asset Management System (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, TFS, SharePoint) for leadership and program stakeholders by providing accurate CI, asset, and lifecycle data into contract level performance dashboards and reports.
  • Extracts, validates, and reconciles data across the Configuration Management System and ITAM/CMDB to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
  • Supports Change Control Board (CCB) reporting by compiling change request status, decisions, and aging metrics.
  • Tracks and reports on baseline configuration metrics, release baseline packages, and configuration audit results.
  • Identifies data quality issues or discrepancies between CI records, asset records, and financial/inventory data; including discrepancies affecting Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) accountability records; coordinates with Configuration and Asset Analysts to resolve them.
  • Incorporates security compliance status (e.g., STIG compliance, patch/update state) into asset and lifecycle reporting where applicable
  • Supports physical/configuration audits by preparing pre-audit data extracts and post-audit variance reports.
  • Analyzes lifecycle data (refresh cycles, end-of-life/end-of-support dates, warranty status) to support forecasting and budget planning, including cost estimation and tracking for Government-authorized surge or refresh activity
  • Documents reporting processes, data definitions, and report specifications; maintains a report catalog/inventory.
  • Recommends improvements to reporting processes, data structures, and dashboard design to increase accuracy and reduce manual effort.
  • Responds to stakeholder requests for custom reports and data analysis within established SLAs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Relevant Work Experience: 2-5 years of experience in reporting/data analysis, ideally within configuration management, IT asset management, or ITSM operations. Experience pulling and reconciling data across CM/ITAM/CMDB systems preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation preferred
  • Must possess a Secret Clearance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong proficiency with reporting/BI tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, ServiceNow reporting) and query/data extraction skills.
  • Familiarity with a Configuration/Asset Management System such as ServiceNow, Jira, TFS, ClearCase, or RAZOR.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy; comfortable reconciling data across multiple systems of record.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to translate data into clear, actionable reporting for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of configuration management concepts (baselines, CI status accounting, change control) and IT asset lifecycle stages.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, and comfortable in an environment with evolving requirements.
