AGGREGATE MINE SUPERVISOR
Department: Aggregate
Job Title: Mine supervisor
Work Schedule: Day shift, flexible hours. Overtime as required.
Full or Part Time: Full time only
Reports to: Operations Manager
Salary: $32.50 - $36.00
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will oversee production to enable plant productivity and maintenance and the delivery of quality products to customers in an efficient manner, performs various manual tasks in the pits as required.
Essentials Functions
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of a sand and gravel mining operations
• Preventative maintenance, equipment repair, direct employee supervision
• Interact with vendors and employees.
• Ensure a safe working environment through daily inspections of Safety, electrical, mechanical, welding and mining methods of the mine.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the operations of a sand and gravel pit
• Experience in a supervisory capacity
• Good leadership and motivational skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Understanding of aggregate plants and mobile equipment
• Knowledge of MSHA rules and regulations
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment including but not limited to loaders, dozers, hydraulic excavators, and off-road haul trucks. Plant processing includes but is not limited to water pumps, generators, electrical control components, vibratory screens, sand screws, conveyors, radial stackers, material washers, scales, settling basins, vibratory feeders, and log washers.
• Experience maintaining and operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Bi-lingual a plus
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to learn the methods and practices used in the mine.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
