Job Summary
The KTO Circuit Pit Marshal is responsible for maintaining the safe, efficient and organized flow of drivers and vehicles between registration, staging, pit lane and active track operations. This position serves as a critical safety liaison between guests, drivers, track operations personnel and pit lane staff while ensuring all participants comply with operational procedures, safety requirements and event protocols.  The Pit Marshal oversees driver check-in activities, waiver verification, run-group organization, pit lane staging, vehicle release procedures and real-time track monitoring. The position plays a direct role in supporting safe vehicle operations and protecting guests, drivers, Team Members and facility assets. Transitions to indoor X Center duties during winters months.  The KTO Circuit Pit Marshal shall represent M1 Concourse with the highest level of professionalism and decorum.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assigns and programs vehicle power settings based on established operational guidelines, driver experience levels and track conditions. 
  • Assists drivers with digital safety waiver completion and check-in procedures using tablet-based systems. 
  • Assists with emergency response coordination and incident reporting when required. 
  • Communicates run schedules, wait times, event updates and operational announcements to participants. 
  • Conducts visual inspections to ensure drivers meet required safety apparel and equipment standards. 
  • Distributes driver credentials, wristbands and event materials. 
  • Enforces pit lane speed limits, track entry procedures and operational safety requirements. 
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, operational procedures, insurance requirements and safety standards. 
  • Ensures drivers report to staging areas in accordance with event schedules and operational timelines. 
  • Identifies and reports spins, stalls, debris, fluid leaks, collisions or other track hazards immediately. 
  • Maintains a safety-first mindset while delivering exceptional guest and participant experiences.
  • Maintains accurate records of operational activities, incidents and safety observations. 
  • Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the Drivers Lounge and staging areas.
  • Monitors designated track sections and blind spots for operational and safety concerns. 
  • Organizes and stages vehicles for safe and efficient pit lane operations. 
  • Organizes drivers into designated run groups and maintains accurate staging records. 
  • Safely controls vehicle movement and release from pit lane onto active track surfaces. 
  • Serves as the primary communication link between drivers, guests, pit lane personnel and track operations staff. 
  • Supports special events, corporate functions, racing programs and hospitality experiences. 
  • Transitions to indoor X Center duties during winters months.
  • Utilizes multi-channel radio systems to communicate real-time safety information to operations personnel. 
  • Verifies driver registration documentation, liability waivers, and event eligibility requirements. 
  • Performs all other duties as may be required and assigned.
