Job description

Piping Designer
Responsibilities
  • Develop models of equipment and structure to produce 3D plant designs
  • Generate orthographic and isometrics drawings, MTOs, arrangement details, and location plans
  • Support engineers on projects for operating facilities and develop layouts and drawings for equipment, including plan, sections, and elevations
  • Support proposal work by developing conceptual plant layouts and generating orthographic views
  • Check vendor drawings. Make necessary corrections and coordinate submittals as instructed
  • Follow established CAD standards and guidelines for the industrial gases industry
  • Reports to Design Department Manager
  • Work with other departments and work groups as needed
  • Participate in departmental training programs/seminars and on-line training
Qualifications
  • Two-year degree in engineering / drafting technology from a recognized technical institute a plusMechanical or electrical engineering degree or relevant course work a plus.
  • Proficiency in 3D (CADWORX a plus), and AutoCAD
  • Experience with cryogenic piping and working in the Industrial Gases Industry is a plus
  • Understanding of pipe stress and pipe supports a plus
  • Basic computer literacy - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a team environment across multiple disciplines.
